Map the Meal Gap

Map the Meal Gap

This new study released by Feeding America gives us the first ever look at food insecurity at the local level.

A new Map the Meal Gap study updates this interactive map with information gathered in 2016. This new data shows that 300,010 people across Harvest Hope Food Bank’s 20 county service area do not always know where they will find their next meal. In all, 14.9 percent of the population throughout 20 counties, from the lower Pee Dee, through the Midlands and stretching to Greenville and Laurens Counties struggle with hunger, according to research released today by Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization.
